An emerging talent in the world of film composing, the music of Ian Mann truly embodies what it means to be a supportive score. No matter the project, Ian will bring a fresh and original take to the table, drawing from his studies of countless styles of modern and traditional music. Inspired by composers such as James Horner, John Williams, Alexandre Desplat, Alan Silvestri, and Danny Elfman, Ian is no stranger to the art of film scoring.
Starting at the age of five, Ian began his piano training in both Classical and Commercial styles. Now he is a skilled multi-instrumentalist with a keen ear for what form of music is needed for all types of media. Born in St. Louis, Mann graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Commercial Music, and is currently based in Nashville, TN. His early aspirations for scoring film began just as he entered high school. After being introduced to the power of a DAW, he realized that he could take the constant flow of sounds he heard in his head and program them so all could hear. Since that point, he has produced an array of original compositions, while also uniquely arranging existing pieces.
Through the mentorship of some of the best composers and musicians Nashville has to offer— Bruce Dudley, Michael Whittaker, David McKay, Keith Mason, and Jeff Kirk to name a few—Ian Mann has all of the tools necessary to provide perfectly fitted custom music.
My fee is based on the style, type, and duration of the project you want music for, as well as your budget. For example, 30 seconds of background sound design will cost signifigantly less than a 30 minute action score.
Absolutely! I have been trained in many different styles of commercial and classical music.
My job as your composer is to provide you with the perfect underscore or feature that is designed to best compliment your project. This can include meetings to verify ideas and the vision for your project, as well as a spotting session that allows for precise music cues and cuts. In other words, with me, you will not simply get "needle-drop" music to throw in your project and hope for the best. With Mann Music, you will be getting a completely custom supporting score.
You are getting completely original music, therefore, no other party has rights to that music. Because of this, almost every aspect of the music is negotiable.
I am also avilable for hire to create tracks/stems for records and live shows, as a freelance pianist for studio and touring gigs, and as a programmer and arranger for anyone needing digital mock ups of their works.
